Seriously? It’s a bagged breakfast of apples, yogurt and a granola bar?! So alas we waited with two hangry toddlers (today’s their birthday btw). I called down to the front desk at 6am to pick up the pre packaged breakfasts they are currently serving only to be told we had to wait until 6:30. My two year old twins are early risers and we’re up at 5:30. Sadly our 4th of July holiday get away began in our favorite vacation spot with a less than enjoyable hotel stay! While the hotel itself and the amenities were up to par, we tried to sleep with an air conditioning unit that sounded like a jet engine was in the room! We were tired enough that it wasn’t the end of the world. I had to try to go out at 3 in the morning to find a gas station that was open to get what I needed.… They only have Pepto Bismo to purchase, no Tylenol, aspirin, tums, Roland's, which I always see at other Hilton hotels. Also, dont get sick while you are there unless it is a stomach virus. We had to skip breakfast because we didn't have time to go back to the room. One day, there was only one person fixing breakfast and she was having to ask people to take their breakfast sandwiches to their room to microwave because she couldn't keep up. The next day, I had to ask for more toilet for my room. They acted like it was no big deal that no one had taken care of my room when I requested it. No one came in on Wednesday so I carried all my dirty towels down to the front desk to get clean towels. I asked at the front desk on Tuesday morning and no one came in so I asked again that evening for Wednesday. I didn't expect daily cleanings because of the Covid but was told I could request someone to come take out the trash and bring fresh towels. The hotel was very clean when we checked in but there was no service after that. I booked a week long stay, starting on a Saturday. They were having computer problems when we checked in and only 1 computer was working and there were many people trying to check in with only 1 computer.… We were so tired at this point that we didn't go back and get another room. She said ok and when we got to the room it was NOT a KING size bed. The staff asked if I needed 2 beds and I said NO as long as the one bed was a KING size.
Only other comment, is we reserved 2 queen beds and when we arrived I wanted to be on the top floor to avoid noise from above. The breakfast is not back to normal yet, but at least I was able to have a waffle made, which I really enjoy at this hotel. We rented bikes and there were ample bike racks available. This hotel is in a good, central location on the island. I understand if there was an issue that needed to be addressed, then by all means come in and fix the issue, but we didn't have any issues to deal with. I didn't want to make an issue of this while I was there, but I do want people to know that just because you say you won't come in, doesn't mean that you won't come in. I really like the fact that people are not coming into my room and I don't have to worry about the things I leave in the room and yet you sent someone into my room when you said that you wouldn't unless I requested this service. My main pet peeve was the sticker on the mirror in the bathroom stating "For your comfort, we want your stay to be as undisturbed as possible, so we will only provide housekeeping upon your request." Well, we did not request any housekeeping and yet someone came in and changed the towels and emptied the trash. So many things that are wet and need to dry out. Wish they would put up more hooks and towel bars, especially when you are at the beach and going to the pool. We always bring plug in air fresheners for our room, so it smells fresh for us, and that was sufficient for us. Didn't notice it as much inside the building, thank goodness. Upon exiting our vehicle, we immediately noticed the smell from the water treatment plant right behind the hotel.
